This section talks about how to have fun with another one's computer if you have access to his or her computer. I included a bunch of miscellaneous stuff having to do with techniques to fool with the minds of your victim.
What to do
There are several things that can be done to fool someone on his or her computer.
1) Shutdown - Make a copy of the Shutdown item in the Apple menu and change the icon to some commonly used program such as hotline or MS Word and place it where those programs used to be. then when you victim double clicks on their program (or the Shutdown item just with a different icon) their computer will unexpectedly shut down. You can also put a copy of the Shutdown item in the startup items folder so when ever your victim starts up his computer it shuts back down! The simple fix for this is to restart you computer while holding down the shift key. There are many different possibilities, try and see what you can come up with.
2) Sound - Go into the alert sounds control panel and make about a 2 min sound of silence. Since you computer freezes when it plays an alert sound, the victim will think his computer has crashed and will probably restart. But no real harm is done.
3) Icons - Switch icons around as to confuse your victim. He might say something like, "Why does Netscape open when I try to get into Word?" This can be quite amusing.
4) Keyboard - Change the keyboard configuration to something like German and your victim will wonder why the z's and x's are mixed up.
5) ResEdit - Change the alert boxes in a program with ResEdit to read something like, "You can't do that, stupid!" ResEdit is a wonderful program – it gives you the ability to change anything. The possibilities are endless!
6) Finder - This is a hack that will skrew up the Finder and cause it to crash. It is really simple and hard to find if you are trying to find the bug. All you do is "Get info" for all the alias' in the "Recent Applications" folder and lock all of them. What this does is when the user opens an application that is not already in the "Recent Applications" folder it causes the Finder to crash because it can't delete one of the alias' to create room for a new one because all the alias's are locked. To undo this bug simply unlock all the items in the "Recent Applications" folder.
